Laminate 1500 g of puff pastry dough until a thickness of 2 mm is reached. Place the panettone on this, spreading it out evenly. Cut into 10 cm strips and plait twice. Bake for 35 minutes at 160°C in a fan-assisted oven or at 180°C in a static oven.
Combine the two ingredients and heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Apply the glaze just removed from the oven to the product.
